Origin Story & Community Impact.

Tapiplaya sits at the heart of Bolivia’s celebrated Caranavi region, where mountains, unique loamy-clay soil, and indigenous Quechua culture shape every cherry. The pioneering Sol de la Mañana programme, led by the Rodriguez family, supports these smallholder producers with year-round agronomist visits, technical training, and guaranteed fair prices for their cherries. Farms average a modest 2–5 hectares, integrating coffee with fruit trees and native forest, ensuring biodiversity and generational skill.

Each evening in season, fresh-picked cherries travel to the Bella Vista mill for hand-sorting, careful washing, and slow patio drying. Final preparation at “The Moon” mill in La Paz ensures cup clarity and traceability from seed to export.

Farm-Focused Quality & Sustainability.

  • Selective Handpicking: Only perfectly ripe cherries from tiny family plots
  • Community-Led Delivery: Daily, direct to Bella Vista mill
  • Washed Process & Slow Patio Drying: Extended fermentation and gradual sun drying protect full body and vibrant flavour
  • Traceable Export: Milled, graded, and finished in La Paz for absolute cup clarity and farm traceability

Why Tapiplaya Stands Out

Tapiplaya, Bolivia offers a rich, buttery mouthfeel with comforting roasted hazelnuts, deep brown sugar sweetness, bright notes of plum, and the biscuit warmth of a digestive. With low-to-medium acidity and a long, full finish, it’s a perfect bridging cup between classic South American balance and modern specialty vibrancy.

Empowering Producers, Preserving Tradition.

Every cup supports the next generation of Bolivian coffee farmers, preserves indigenous agricultural wisdom, and advances quality-first, community-centred coffee in one of origin’s most remote and beautiful landscapes.
