Thrown by hand in Co. Sligo. Made for the way you brew.

Made for us, and nowhere else.

In 2011 our founder Karl Purdy asked his brother-in-law, the potter John Ryan, for a mug that would sit under an Aeropress without splashing. John threw one. Fifteen years later he still throws every piece we sell, on the wheel, in his studio in Co. Sligo. You will not find this range anywhere else.

                          The potter.

John Ryan trained at Thomastown in Co. Kilkenny, apprenticed with Irish studio potters, then travelled through the Middle East and Japan looking at older ceramic traditions. He set up his own studio in south Co. Sligo in 1997 and has worked there since.

He throws every piece on the wheel, fires to stoneware temperature and mixes his own food-safe glazes, which few potters still do. No two pieces come out quite the same. That is the point.

                          Will it fit your brewer?

These were designed around brewers, not the other way round.

                          Sits under

Aeropress, original and Plus. Clever Dripper. Hario V60, sizes 01 and 02. Timemore Crystal Eye. Chemex, poured across.

Pour straight from the brewer without splashing.

                          Which size

                          Mug, 250ml. A full single-cup brew.

Tasting mug, 120 to 150ml. Half a brew, or a double espresso.

                          Creamer, for milk.

                          Looking after it

                          Dishwasher safe. Microwave safe. Oven-proof.

Every piece is thrown by hand, so the shape and the glaze vary a little from one to the next.

                          Thrown by hand

Every piece is made on the wheel by John Ryan in Co. Sligo. Not moulded, not imported.

                          Made for brewing

Sized to sit under an Aeropress, a Clever Dripper, a V60 or a Timemore Crystal Eye.
