The potter.
John Ryan trained at Thomastown in Co. Kilkenny, apprenticed with Irish studio potters, then travelled through the Middle East and Japan looking at older ceramic traditions. He set up his own studio in south Co. Sligo in 1997 and has worked there since.
He throws every piece on the wheel, fires to stoneware temperature and mixes his own food-safe glazes, which few potters still do. No two pieces come out quite the same. That is the point.
Will it fit your brewer?
