SAS | South Anne Street
The story of SAS
Coffeeangel SAS was opened on Dublin’s iconic South Anne Street in November 2012. Starting life as a three month “pop-up” (whilst awaiting planning approval for our shop on Pembroke Street Lower), SAS’s sole purpose was to serve as a temporary retail outlet for some amazing, coffee-related Christmas gifts and to brew a few take-away coffees for weary shoppers over the holiday season.
Half the size of what it is today, both the limited space and life-span forced us to make some economical and creative design choices. These distinctive design choices received wide and critical acclaim and now form the ever-evolving “architectural language” of all our shops. SAS was also an instant hit with customers and we quickly realised that closing the doors after three months was totally unnecessary and we turned this temporary home into a permanent one.
In February, 2014 we expanded into the unit next door and turned our what was a tiny shop into a perfectly formed small one - with the addition of limited seating, a sweet and savoury food offer, bags of freshly roasted, season’s best retail coffee beans and the already great selection of coffee brewing tools and equipment.
Coffeeangel SAS is open seven days a week with coffee, teas and snacks available for both sit-in and take-away.
