The Matcha Set

A bowl, a whisk and the matcha to go in them.

Everything needed to make matcha properly at home, and nothing that will sit in a cupboard. Bought separately, the three come to €119.20.

In the box

• Okumidori Organic Ceremonial Matcha, 30g — a single cultivar, stone-ground, in a sealed tin. Ceremonial grade, which is the grade made to be whisked with water rather than hidden in milk and sugar.
• Contemporary Stoneware Matcha Bowl — thrown on the wheel by John Ryan in Co. Sligo, the same hands that make our mugs. John has been making this range for us since 2011 and it is not sold anywhere else. The wall is wide enough to whisk against, which a mug is not.
• Fugetsu Resin Matcha Whisk, with its stand — resin rather than bamboo, so it will not split or go mouldy if it is put away damp. It whisks the same, and it lasts.

Thirty grams is about fifteen bowls, so it will see out a couple of months of most mornings.

Every bowl is thrown by hand, so no two are quite the same. It arrives boxed, in our gift box with an orange sleeve. Add a note at checkout and we will put it in.
