Montalvo DECAF, Colombia
Sugarcane (E.A.) Decaf · Planadas, Colombia
Notes of toffee, blackberry and almond
We'd brew it as filter — the sweetness carries just as well through espresso.
A decaf built to be drunk for its own sake, not just for the missing caffeine. Toffee sweetness up front, blackberry through the middle and a deep note of almond nuttiness underneath — full-bodied and smooth, the kind of cup that holds up after dinner or last thing at night.
It's a single origin from Planadas, in Colombia's Tolima region, decaffeinated by the sugarcane (E.A.) process — a natural method that uses ethyl acetate from fermented sugarcane to lift the caffeine while leaving the fruit and sweetness where they are. That's why it drinks like the coffee it came from, not like a compromise.
A permanent fixture on the bar — the decaf we'd happily drink ourselves.

Dark Chocolate – Deep, indulgent richness
What is Sugarcane (E.A.) Decaffeination?
A natural decaffeination method, developed in Colombia, that uses ethyl acetate drawn from fermented sugarcane to remove the caffeine while leaving the coffee's own flavours largely intact. The result is a cup that's clean, sweet and fully caffeine-free — without the flatness that older decaf processes can leave behind.
Brewing.
Filter — best for its sweetness and clarity.
French press — brings out the body and depth.
Espresso — richer and more concentrated, good in milk.
Why choose Montalvo Decaf?
Full flavour, no caffeine — the sugarcane (E.A.) process keeps the fruit and body that decaffeination usually strips out.
Roasted by Bailies in Belfast — fresh weekly, roast date on every bag.
Directly traded with the growers in Tolima.
